Then the position of policy officer Water Quality Management at the Maintenance and Management department of the Facility Service Center is really something for you!

The buildings of Utrecht University are unique and we are proud of that. The UU consists of approximately 500,000 m2 of education and research buildings, including education halls, offices, advanced research laboratories, animal clinics and libraries, which are located in the city center of Utrecht, the University College and in Utrecht Science Park (De Uithof). Our laboratories, among others, are equipped with process water installations and some buildings have wet cooling towers.

As a policy officer within the Water Quality domain you are responsible for the demonstrable conformity of all building-related facilities to the connection conditions, applicable legislation and university policy. The domain comprises process and cooling water installations and naturally also concerns legionella control. You work together in a team with policy officers for other domains. As an expert, you propagate policy with persuasiveness within the university. Where necessary, you elaborate policy formulated at a strategic level into applicable frameworks and protocols for the management and maintenance process. You test the effects of project proposals and advice reports against design guidelines and university policy. You assess inspection reports and act as a guide in the event of deviations. You control inspection programs in relation to Water Quality. On the basis of multi-year maintenance plans you specify planned maintenance projects of varying size and complexity. In cooperation with the Biological Safety Coordinator you fulfill the counter function to the regional enforcement service.

You are an experienced professional who through his expertise and approach ensures that the Maintenance and Management department is in control with regard to Water quality. Therefore:
you have a relevant completed higher professional education such as Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering or demonstrable higher professional education and thinking level;
you have at least five years of relevant and practical work experience in this area;
an installation background is an advantage;
You have a good knowledge of current laws and regulations in the field of Water quality.

It concerns an appointment of 0.8 - 1.0 FTE for the duration of 1 year. With proper functioning, an employment contract for an indefinite period is possible. The salary amounts to a minimum of € 2,709 and a maximum of € 4,978 (scale 10/11 Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for full-time employment.

You will also receive 8% holiday pay and a year-end bonus of 8.3%. The Facility Service Center (FSC) is one of the departments of the University Administration Department. The FSC offers a wide range of products and support services to university faculties and services, as well as employees, students and external tenants. The activities are carried out by around 300 internal employees. The facility organization is developing more and more into a management organization.
