Study Assistant In Laboratory For Clinical Movement Analysis For Other Languages

The Laboratory for Clinical Movement Analysis is an important clinical and research unit within the Neurorehabilitation Research Group of the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at KU Leuven, situated on the Pellenberg campus of the UZ Leuven. Within the framework of multidisciplinary research projects, this research unit works closely with the child orthopedics department of UZ Leuven, and with the Pneumology Lab and the Stem Cell Institute of KU Leuven, on the Gasthuisberg campus.

We are currently looking for a study assistant to support the research team in ongoing scientific studies. This employee will be involved in the scientific team that works with children with cerebral palsy or cerebral palsy. 


What your position entails:


  • You will be involved for the coordination and administrative processing of studies. You are responsible for the administrative registration and follow-up of study participants and study activities.
  • You provide assistance with screening, recruitment and randomization of participants.
  • You contact the (parents of) participants and provide additional information about the studies.
  • You will be actively responsible for scheduling and following up the agreements.
  • You are partly responsible for collecting data by performing measurements such as ultrasound.
  • You provide support in registering the measurements in the database.
  • You are enabled for data processing;
  • You participate in process optimizations;
  • You work together with other study staff, doctoral students, doctors professors, paramedics and nurses.
  • You hold a degree in 'Master of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy' 'Master of Physical Education and Movement Sciences'; Masters in Biomedical Sciences; Bachelor or Master in Nursing or Midwifery; or a diploma in related disciplines.
  • You show scientific interest in the field of medicine, biomedical and / or (pediatric) rehabilitation;
  • You are patient-oriented, you can deal with their situation empathically and you can also deal with children;
  • You communicate smoothly and professionally;
  • You have good social skills;
  • You can work in a structured way and have a sense of accuracy;
  • You can function well both independently and in a team;
  • You are flexible;
  • You are willing to follow additional training courses or relevant workshops (GDPR, Good Clinical Practice).
  • You are familiar with PC applications and you have a good knowledge of current software packages such as MS Office;
  • A good knowledge of English and notions of French is a plus.
  • A dynamic multidisciplinary research group with a strong international network;

  • Active participation within the study with intensive patient contact.
  • It concerns a 100% employment (possibly split into 2 x 50%).
