Student Administrator (Student Support) Auckland University of Technology, Faculty of Business, Economics and Law New Zealand

The AUT Faculty of Business, Economics and Law provides world-class education in a range of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications, preparing students well for business, economics and law practice or research careers. In all programmes, there is a focus on an authentic practice based learning environment creating world-ready graduates. Extensive engagement with business, the professions and the community, through curriculum development, and research collaboration and impact, is a cornerstone of the Faculty's educational philosophy.


The Faculty is comprised of the AUT Business School and the AUT Law School. The business school is internationally ranked and recognized, and one of the largest university providers of business education in New Zealand. The Law School, operating since 2009, offers a distinctive, professionally focused legal education designed to maximize the employment opportunities available to our students once they graduate.


The Faculty has approximately 6,000 students and 200 staff, of which 70 are professional staff. Though the Faculty is based on the City Campus, it also offers some of its programmes on the AUT South campus.


The role


Due to a recent vacancy, an opportunity is now available for an experienced Student Administrator to join the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law at the South and City Campus.


A key component is responsibility for the delivery of excellent customer service to the AUT community by providing student support, course advice and administrative support within the Faculty of Business, Economics and Law Undergraduate Office. This role has a particular focus on monitoring academic progress and this role has special emphasis on supporting the student through their undergraduate journey, through co-ordinating academic progress and implementing intervention strategies for student support and enrolments through managing student enrolment changes.


The position works closely the Student Support Manager. However, the role is also expected to co-operate and collaborate with other staff (academic and professional) across the Faculty and University.

Proven experience, at least 2 years, working in administration in an education environment

Ability to cope with short-term pressure and work load
