An opportunity is available in the UNSW Faculty of Arts, Design & Architecture as a Short Courses Administrator (casual).

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in the delivery of high-quality customer service, attention to detail, and a can-do attitude. We also seek administrative experience in a high-volume office environment and experience with managing competing deadlines.

The opportunity

The Short Courses Administrator provides effective day-to-day administrative support within the Faculty Education Excellence team to ensure all services are provided efficiently to meet the operating needs of the Faculty of Arts, Design and Architecture. In particular, the role supports the development and delivery of short courses (non-award courses) within the Faculty.

  • Work with the Education Excellence and Innovation team, School leadership, relevant academics, and external stakeholders to support and deliver identified short course programs, professional development and lifelong learning events. 
  • Support the preparation and implementation of administration needs related to each short course including, but not limited to marketing, communication, liaising with presenters and volunteers, event management, registrations, maintenance of databases, evaluation, micro-credentialing and financial administration. 
  • Maintain and submit as required accreditation records/requirements of Short course programs. 
  • Respond to in-person, telephone and email enquiries and initiate appropriate action. 
  • Act as a liaison to Gifted Education program stakeholders under the guidance of the Professional Learning Coordinator (e.g. schools, teachers and parents). 
  • Hands-on event support, including assistance with set up and pack down, stock monitoring, registrations, printing, catering support and logistical preparation. Event attendance outside of regular office hours will likely be required. 

About the successful candidate

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience. 
  • Advanced time management, organisational and problem-solving skills, including the ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Well-developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated experience providing effective customer service and support to clients at all levels. 
  • Highly proficient computer literacy with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to make sound judgements and work both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting and contributing to projects and initiatives. 
  • Advanced numeracy skills. 
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines. 
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
