Office of Marketing and Communication

 

The office of Marketing and Communication (M&C) enhances the success of the University by providing a central marketing and communication service. The highly professional M&C team is responsible for the University's central marketing strategy, events and protocol, corporate communication and publications, media liaison, brand management, advertising and web development.

 

M&C also liaises with executive staff, senior faculty and institute staff, marketing and communication officers in faculties, centres and administration divisions across the University.

 

The office has responsibilities across the span of University campuses and operations, nationally and internationally, with staff skilled in marketing, communication, events, web development and design. Career progression and staff development are key elements of the work environment, in which achievement is recognised and rewarded.

 

The role

 

Plan and implement a variety of University functions and events that enhance the profile and reputation of the University, including Vice-Chancellor functions, building openings, VIP visits and graduations.

 

The person

 

Applicants should possess a degree in event management or marketing/public relations or a related area plus substantial experience in event and protocol management OR an equivalent combination of training/education and experience.

 

The successful applicant will have high level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines whilst demonstrating accuracy and strong attention to detail, along with excellent oral and written communications skills.

 

The Senior Protocol Officer will be able to provide support to the Protocol Manager, including contributing to strategic planning requirements, assisting with building the profile and role of Protocol and M&C, and deputising in the manager's absence.

Remuneration

 

This is a full-time, fixed term 12 month appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package will be in the range $85,222 – $93,085 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $93,318 – $101,929 p.a.).
