About the position

At the Department of Design, NTNU Gjøvik, there is a vacant 100% position as Chief Executive Officer. The position is administratively linked to the Department of Design, Faculty of Architecture and Design, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). The Department offers study programs in Interaction Design, Web Development, Web Design and Graphic Design and Industrial Design.


The position is part of the administration at the department in Trondheim and reports to the deputy chair of Gjøvik.

eligibility Requirements

relevant education from university or college at minimum equivalent bachelor level, with long and relevant experience, the level of education can be deviated from

good IT knowledge

good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian and English

Wanted qualifications

practical experience within one or more of the job's tasks

experience with IT systems such as Basware and ePhorte

motivation for having the service role and contributing to the further development of the institute's administrative routines

Salaries and terms

The position as senior executive code 1408 is normally paid from gross NOK 456 900 - 488 500 per year. years depending on qualifications and seniority. From salaries, 2% of statutory deposits are withdrawn from the Government Pension Fund.


The employment is carried out in accordance with the principles of the State Employees Act, and legislation regulating the export of knowledge, technology and services. After hiring, you must expect changes to the work area.

Department of Design


The department has two equally large departments in Trondheim and in Gjøvik. Our departments are specialized in industrial design, graphic design and web technology. Both departments have expertise in interaction design and share a number of research interests in health and welfare technology. The design environment is considered a link between many technology environments at NTNU. In this role, the institute is concerned with collaboration across departments and faculties. The department in Trondheim has close cooperation with the architecture environment in education and research. The department in Gjøvik has close cooperation with various professional environments in the field of computer technology and computer science. Nationally, the institute has extensive cooperation with Norwegian industrial companies. The Department of Design is one of four departments at the Faculty of Architecture and Design .
