Duties and Responsibilities

UCL are looking to appoint a number of Senior Agile Delivery Managers within the Information Services Division, to provide leadership and strategic direction for the team managing a service portfolio of identity, communications and collaboration platforms.

As a Senior Agile Delivery Manager you will manage one or more agile projects, typically to deliver a specific product (service) or transformation via a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled team. You'll be adept at delivering complex projects, breaking down barriers for your team and both planning at a higher level and getting into the detail to make things happen when needed.

Defining project needs and feeding these into the portfolio process will enable resource to be appropriately allocated. Working closely with the Product owners you will oversee the prioritisation and management of work; from initial concept evaluation and justification through supporting and developing solutions and working as part of the team to help it meet its delivery goals. 

Main responsibilities:

  • Deliver projects and products (services) using the appropriate agile project management methodology, learning & iterating frequently
  • Work with the Product Owner to define the roadmap for any given product and translate this into user stories
  • Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process - prioritising the work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team
  • Facilitate agile processes - backlogs, planning, retrospectives, demo's and co-ordinate effort of the delivery team.
  • Communicate with management and outside stakeholders.
  • Line management and development responsibilities for a number of less experienced Agile Delivery Managers
  • Manage/maintain budget to spend and time allocation for finance cost management
Key Requirements

Skills and experience

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience in delivering projects and products (services) using Agile methodologies, at least 5 years
  • Industry recognised Agile project management qualification
  • Proven experience using a range of agile project management methods
  • Proven experience balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity
  • Experience in facilitating multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration and communication skills
  • Previous experience in coaching team members in Agile practices
  • Previous line management experience of other ADMs

Desirable Skills

  • Good knowledge of Jira and other project management tools
  • Previous experience in delivering a project in the relevant technology
