About the position

Do you want an exciting managerial job at the University Library?


We have a vacancy as section manager at the Library Section for the Humanities, Social and Educational Sciences. You must have an interest in creating and delivering good user services aimed at education and research and be able to think new and exciting about the library's role at Norway's largest university.


The approx. 130 employees in the University Library work systematically on library development to meet new needs in a digital society. Library section for the humanities, social and educational science has approx. 25 employees divided into 3 libraries.


Workplace is in Trondheim and the position reports to the library manager.

Participation in the management group and management of specialist matrices and projects

preparation and implementation of development and annual plans

responsibility for developing good and modern user services

facilitate good, innovative activities in the library areas

eligibility Requirements

minimum master's degree

relevant management experience with personnel management, often in combination with management education

good written and oral presentation skills in Norwegian and English

experience from change and development processes, often in knowledge organizations

knowledge of research and education at university

experience with digital knowledge dissemination

good knowledge of digital work processes and good ability to operate processes

experience with the use of interaction tools

good communication and communication skills

Salaries and terms

The position as section manager (code 1211) is normally paid from gross NOK 682 200 - 731 400 per year. years depending on qualifications. From salary, 2% of statutory deposits are withdrawn from the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.


The employment is carried out in accordance with the principles of the State Employees Act, and legislation regulating the export of knowledge, technology and services. After hiring, you must expect changes to the work area.
