The universities of Utrecht and Eindhoven will start the Fair Energy Transition collaboration project this fall. In this project, instruments are being developed for the integrative assessment of how the energy transition can be designed in a fair way, that is, taking into account social, economic, political, legal and cultural implications for current and future generations worldwide. The project involves a consortium of ethics, sociology, psychology, geosciences, economics, law and innovation sciences scientists. The project has a duration of 5 years.

The researcher / project coordinator of the "Fair Energy Transition" project maintains an overview of all activities and is the point of contact for participating universities and for external parties. Together with the project leaders of the project, Prof. Marcus Düwell and Prof. Floor Alkemade (consisting of representatives of the participating universities), and the scientists involved, the researcher / project coordinator has the task of creating this project in an enthusiastic way. to give. This includes:
the general coordination of the "Fair Energy Transition";
coordinating the scientific work within the project;
initiating / supporting scientific publications;
setting up program lines;
doing research (together with others);
the coordination of working groups, the preparation of meetings;
maintaining contact with social stakeholders and participating universities.

We offer two options to offer various candidates the opportunity to fill this position:
An appointment as postdoc for 0.8 FTE on the project "Fair Energy Transition", whereby the scope of work is distributed in the following way:
Spend 0.4 FTE on the aforementioned (organizational) activities and
Spend 0.4 FTE on research relevant to the "Fair Energy Transition" project;
A university teacher, already working at the University of Utrecht or Eindhoven, who will work for 0.4 FTE of the current appointment for the "Fair Energy Transition" project.

Profile
As a researcher / project coordinator you meet the following profile:

hold a PhD in one of the relevant fields;
demonstrable experience of conducting research relevant to the project;
demonstrable experience with the organization and implementation of scientific projects;
demonstrable experience with interdisciplinary cooperation;
socially skilled and communicative in a complex work environment (command of Dutch and English);
very entrepreneurial and independent with an excellent organizational skills;
innovative view and not afraid to leave the beaten track, with an eye for the existing structures and can utilize and strengthen them.

For the postdoc option, it is a temporary appointment for a period of one year (with a probationary period of 2 months) with a job scope of 0.8 FTE: starting date, etc. With a positive evaluation, the appointment can be extended by a maximum of two more years.

Depending on education and experience based on a 38-hour working week, the salary is a minimum of € 2,709 and a maximum of € 3,637 (scale 10, Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month.

For the option of university lecturer, we only offer work for a university lecturer, already working at Utrecht University or Eindhoven University of Technology, for a duration of one year (with a probationary period of 2 months) of 0.4 FTE of the current appointment: starting date as soon as possible In the event of a positive evaluation, extension of the activities is possible. For internal candidates, we expect that before you apply, you have consulted with your supervisor or that a temporary loan to the "Fair Energy Transition" project fits within your current work.

Classification takes place in the current salary and amounts to a minimum of € 3,637 and a maximum of € 5,039 gross per month for full-time employment (scale 11/12, Collective Labor Agreement Dutch Universities).
