Research Support Ofifcer (Study Coordinator - Monitor), Clinical Research Facility Cork

Position summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated person with experience in Monitoring and Coordination of Clinical Trials to join the Heath Research Board (HRB)-Clinical Research Facility Cork. The facility was established to promote excellence in the design, safe conduct and analysis of patient focused research. It provides the necessary space, expertise and equipment to allow medical professionals in Munster to work at the cutting edge of clinical research. The HRB-CRF-C allows breakthroughs in laboratory research, drug therapy, food supplements, medical devices and care pathways to be converted into more effective, safer treatments of patients in a timely and efficient fashion.

The HRB-CRF-C supports research undertaken through UCC and its affiliated hospitals as well as in primary care settings. It is funded by the HRB and is operated as a joint venture with UCC, Cork University Hospital (CUH) and Mercy University Hospital (MUH). The Clinical Trial Study Coordinator-Monitor will be responsible for helping assure the quality of Clinical Trials in Ireland and abroad. This will involve monitoring study sites and also carrying out internal quality reviews on clinical trials carried out by CRF-C clinical personnel.

Note: The ability to travel a minimum of 20% within Ireland, UK and internationally is required.

Post Duration: 6 Months initially

Salary: €40,000 p.a.
