We seek an experienced Research Coordinator who has experience in coordinating large-scale trials or studies. Working with the Scientific Study Coordinator, senior academics at the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit (CEU) and senior NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) staff, the post-holder will help coordinate CEU-led studies embedded within NHSBT systems.

The post holder will assist the scientific study coordinator in all aspects of recruitment to and monitoring of these studies, including: (i) the preparation and submission of documents for ethical review; (ii) the design and implementation of study protocols; (iii) oversight of the recruitment of participants; (iv) ensuring that data and samples are collected and distributed correctly and; (v) contributing to the drafting of reports (scientific, administrative and financial) to funding bodies.

The purpose of the role is to coordinate day-to-day running of CEU studies, work with Principal Investigators, external stakeholders, collaborators and internal multi-disciplinary staff, coordinate the implementation of the research, monitor study progress, coordinate reports, planning and organising training courses and workshop, and communicating with study partners and the public. In addition, to coordinate the smooth running of projects, to support the scientific study coordinator to ensure that projects meet their objectives.

You will be educated to degree level and hold an MSc in a relevant scientific field (eg biological or medical science) or have equivalent qualifications or relevant equivalent experience, with experience of setting up and running clinical trials as well as research/project management. You will possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as a high level of competence in Microsoft Office, along with strong organisational skills and a flexible approach to demanding situations.

This is a full-time position and the funds for this post are available for 2 years from commencement in post.
