Research Program Coordinator, Research Projects Johns Hopkins University, School of Public Health United States

Research Program Coordinator

General Summary/Purpose

We are currently seeking to hire an Outreach Coordinator for the SPARC Center in Baltimore, MD. SPARC is a harm reduction drop-in center that is part of a study examining the effects of a community level intervention on sex workers' health and wellness. SPARC provides general case management services, hosts a number of clinical service providers (e.g., legal, healthcare, addiction management), and also serves as a communal and drop-in space for women (e.g., showers, lockers, laundry, computers, events, and a community space). SPARC staff are expected to operate within the principles of harm reduction. SPARC supports women, agender, gender-nonbinary, gender non-conforming (GNC), and all other non-men identities. We specifically serve the south and southwest Baltimore community, due to the high number of women trading sex there, with little current community services or resources available to them.

The Outreach Coordinator will interact with a wide range of center staff (e.g., peer outreach workers, health providers, students, interns, volunteers), as well as clients, including sex workers, people experiencing homelessness, and people who use drugs. The Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for the continued development and coordination of the outreach program at SPARC. They will also be responsible for the implementation of a new volunteer program at SPARC. This position reports directly to the Project Director.
