Description

:  Under the direction of the Business and Administration Director and receiving functional direction from the Patient Centred Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) Project Principal Investigators and the University of Toronto Practice-Based Research Network (UTOPIAN) Research Administrator, the incumbent provides research and project management support.

 

Key duties include: fostering positive relationships with project partners; communicating project progress to stakeholders; collaborating on cost estimations; making minor purchases; formatting collected data for presentations and reports; coordinating meeting schedules; preparing and editing documents; collecting data; preparing draft statistical reports and summaries of collected data; analyzing results and preparing statistical reports and coordinating Research Ethics Board (REB) submissions.

 

Qualifications

(Minimum)

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in health administration, health policy, health sciences, health services research, or related fields or equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management Certification (PMP) preferred.

 

Experience:

Minimum of two years relevant experience including experience in research related coordination, multi-site research studies, preferably including clinical trials, grant development/submission, study implementation and research ethics submissions. Experience coordinating research projects (including timelines and deliverables) and coordinating a research protocol (including understanding of factors related to data collection, confidentiality, ethics, data security, and informed consent). Experience providing administrative support to working groups and committees, including coordinating meetings, drafting materials and minute taking. Basic understanding of quantitative and qualitative research. Experience preparing surveys and questionnaires, compiling results, tabulating basic statistical data and preparing statistical reports.

 

Skills:

Excellent working knowledge of PC platforms (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Access). Basic knowledge of statistical software (such as Stata, SPSS, R), survey design tools (Qualtrics, Ocean) and/or software for qualitative projects (NVivo) strong advantage. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record systems.

 

Other:

Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to work independently but also effectively as part of a multi-professional project team. Excellent organizational, time management, administrative, problem-solving, and writing skills are essential. Demonstrated project management skills. Ability to manage multiple processes, and deal with multiple groups. Ability to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, problem-solving skills and to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to identify and succinctly summarize findings for diverse audiences. Demonstrated good judgment, attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.

Notes: This is a maternity leave replacement position.

 

This position is located in North York. A valid driver’s licence is essential for this role.

Appointment Type: Budget - Term

Schedule: Full-time

Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 09 -- $56,272 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $71,963. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
