The newly created role of Clinical Trials Governance Officer plays an important role within RECS. Primarily , the role will be supporting the Human Research Manager and the Director RECS to oversee the compliance and regulatory requirements needed to facilitate assessment, initiation and continued monitoring of clinical trials in accordance to Good Clinical Practice and relevant legislative and UNSW requirements. The Clinical Trials Governance Officer significantly contributes to strategic and operational projects across RECS to achieve the delivery of the Division of Research and Enterprise goals. The role reports to the Human Research Manager and has no direct reports. The Organisation Research Ethics & Compliance Support (RECS) is an integral part of the UNSW Division of Research and Enterprise. The team is responsible for providing oversight and guidance to the University in relation to compliance and legislative needs for research involving humans, animals, poisons and therapeutic drugs, gene technology, radiation safety, controlled biological agents, research export controls, drones, as well as sponsor obligations for clinical trials. Skills and Experience You have a relevant tertiary qualification with a depth of subsequent experience in a clinical trials research governance environment or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training, and experience.
