  • Located at the Children’s Hospital Clinical School based at Westmead (part of Sydney Children Hospitals Network) and multiple locations across USYD campuses
  • 12 months Fixed Term, full-time opportunity with possible extension for 1 year and base salary $92K p.a plus superannuation


About the Opportunity 



We are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and in order to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, we are looking for a passionate and self-challenged Research Data Manager to join the Sydney Neuroimmunology team as part of the Children’s Hospital based at Westmead Campus, although you would be required to travel across Camperdown Campuses.


Under the broad direction of Associate Professor Fabienne Brilot-Turville you will be the professional support person responsible for the development and implementation of a clinical research database for the Sydney Neuroimmunology team. The purpose of the position is to design and coordinate the collection, storage, management and distribution of clinical research data across the Sydney Neuroimmunology research sites.

  • Graduate or postgraduate qualifications in appropriate health or medical discipline with subsequent relevant experience in a scientific research environment
  • Experience in the technical design, implementation, maintenance and querying of database management systems (e.g. ERD’s MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience in relational database design and familiarity with clinical and/or biobanking data management systems (e.g. REDcap) for multiple data types (imaging, clinical and biobanking)
  • Experience in a research-intensive environment, and in the coordination/management of clinical research/clinical trials
  • Understanding of regulatory and ethical guidelines relevant to the conduct of clinical research


The successful candidate will ideally have experience working with multiple and complex group of stakeholders with exemplary communication skills. They will be able to work independently as well as part of a team, taking initiative and exercising sound judgment. They will also be willing to travel across campuses and work on competing deadlines to achieve the required outcome.
