Description:

Reporting to the Administrative & Financial Manager and receiving functional guidance from the Director of Operations, North American Observatory on Health Systems and Policies (NAO), and Principal Investigators, the Research Coordinator will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day administrative, technical and financial operations of the research projects, and providing research assistance. Key duties include: implementation and coordination of research initiatives, research applications (MRA) and ethics submissions; basic data collection and analysis; literature reviews; performing data collection and analysis; report and grant application writing; verifying expenses and transactions; database maintenance; organizing team meetings, and communications.



Qualifications:

(Minimum)

 

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in political science, health science, economics or other relevant health or social science degree; or equivalent combinations of education and experience. Master’s degree considered an asset.

 

Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience including experience working with multi-disciplinary, multi-sectoral healthcare teams. Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis. Experience with project management, research administration, and developing and monitoring budgets is required. Experience in the preparation of grant applications and ethics applications; demonstrated experience writing and editing, including research, grant, journalistic writing and business writing. Experience supporting committees and coordinating meetings and events. Experience liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to move deliverables forward.

 

Skills:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, NVivo); UofT AMS (e.g., RIS, FIS, MROL, MRA) and referencing software (e.g., Endnote).

 

Other:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent organizational skills, especially setting priorities, managing time, attention to detail and accuracy. Strong planning and analytic skills. Excellent judgment and initiative to complete responsibilities with instruction; Capacity to adopt to new technologies quickly and pro-actively. Ability to work independently, as well as ability to work as a collaborative team member.

Schedule: Full-time



Pay Scale Group and Hiring Rate: USW Pay Band 09 -- $56,272 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $71,963. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
