Research and Evaluation Hub Project Manager (Part Time, Fixed Term)

Cambridge Institute of Public Health, School of Clinical Medicine, generates knowledge and evidence to improve global public health, using our research, teaching and analysis to promote well-being, prevent disease and reduce health inequalities.


The overall purpose of this role is to manage the recently established Research and Evaluation Hub for the East of England (EoE) region. Specifically, working closely with Cambridge Institute of Public Health and Public Health England (PHE EoE). The post-holder will manage the day to day co-ordination of the Hub, implement a programme of evaluation activities as guided by the management committee, strengthen the Hub network through linking and ensuring engagement of partners throughout the region. Communicating effectively about the hub activities to all relevant stakeholders is in important aspect of this role. In addition, the post holder will be expected to lead in grant writing and resource generation activities to ensure the sustainability of the research hub with support from management and steering committees.


You should be educated to degree level in a scientific related discipline or have equivalent qualifications or have an equivalent level of practical experience. You should have a solid understanding of public health research, policy and practice and experience of funding and grant application processes. You should have excellent IT skills and organisational skills. You will have experience of project management and writing for editorial and promotional purposes. You should have experience of managing budgets and developing strategies and communication plans.


The hours for this position are 18.5 per week (50% FTE) - working days to be agreed.


The funds for this post is available until 31st March 2020


Location - Cambridge Institute of Public Health, University Forvie Site, Robinson Way, Cambridge Biomedical Campus, Cambridge CB2 0SR (approximately 2 miles south of the city centre)


**We are also advertising for a part-time Public Health Policy Co-ordinator and we would consider combing these 2 posts into a dual full-time role.
