Job Purpose

To support Quality Management Directorate in the implementation of its strategic plan, policies, procedures and quality management systems by providing support to quality reviews, quality monitoring & reporting; and quality promotion activities of Quality Management Directorate in order to ensure continuous quality improvements, positive student experience and stakeholder satisfaction as aligned with the strategic and management needs of CPUT.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • NQF level 7 qualification i.e. Bachelor degree, BTech or Advanced Diploma
  • At least 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in a public/private higher education quality assurance environment.
  • Proven experience in coordinating quality assurance operations such as programme accreditation, qualification reviews and quality promotion in the Higher Education environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the higher education regulatory environment.
  • A good understanding of data management, document repositories and sharing applications.
  • Report writing and research data analysis skills.

Recommendations

  • An NQF level 8 qualification; Honors Degree or Postgraduate Diploma will be an advantage
Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities
  • Plan for, conduct and report on review/accreditation processes as per the operational plan
  • Plan for, conduct and report on quality surveys as per the Quality Management Directorate schedule and strategic plan to measure the quality of the CPUT experience
  • Conducts quality promotion and capacity development activities with academic departments in order to ensure understanding and effective implementation of quality policies.
  • Pro-actively identify, support & provide advice on quality management issues to relevant academic departments & support units, with a high degree of professionalism and integrity
  • Work on allocated tasks & projects with team members, assist in background research and make recommendations into quality management related policies, procedures, systems & instruments, as required, in line with relevant legislation, national standards & international best practice.
  • Participate in the implementation & control of effective data management systems to ensure that Quality Management Directorate can efficiently design, deliver, analyze, report on & store data and information sets related to quality management.
  • Represent Quality Management Directorate within the institution & provide report-back to the Director: Quality Management Directorate
  • Working alongside academic departments and support units to support them in developing, monitoring and reporting on their quality management systems.
