A position is available for a project manager at the group of Prof. Thierry Voet at KU Leuven Department of Human Genetics. The position is intended to establish and manage a lab for spatial biology services at scale in Leuven, in close collaboration with VIB and the European Spatial Biology Center (ESBC NV). You will become part of a team that contributes to leading international research, where you will play a key role in the day-to-day activities.
ResponsibilitiesSpatial biology is a revolutionary emerging field allowing researchers to study cells within their own 2D or 3D context. This opens new avenues to study biological processes in humans and other organisms in health and disease during different stages of development, leading to novel breakthrough discoveries.
The projects to be carried out will be mostly industrial but also academic projects, in addition to new spatial method development or implementation projects. The projects will encompass a wide range of biological disciplines and application areas, including oncology and neuroscience, but also plant and animal sciences, and others. Through your efforts, you shall make a significant contribution to help answer key fundamental biological questions with high impact in their respective fields.
Support the establishment and daily activities of a brand-new laboratory space for running spatial biology services and projects at scale, in close collaboration between the KU Leuven Institute for Single Cell Omics (LISCO), VIB and the European Spatial Biology Center (ESBC).
