Project Administrator (Micromobility Project)

The Institute for Transport Studies is seeking a dynamic individual to provide high quality administrative support for a research project on micromobility funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).

The UK transport sector lags behind all other sectors in its achievement of energy diversification and carbon emission reductions to date, with emissions from transport essentially unchanged since the benchmark year of 1990. The UK lags behind other countries in the uptake of a range of innovative light vehicles for both passenger and freight applications. The aim of this project is to better understand these opportunities - the technological and business options and specifications, where and who they might appeal to, what trips they could be used for and how far they could replace conventional motor vehicle trips. The project will also examine some of the challenges that accompany these opportunities, such as overall energy usage, safety and regulatory issues, digital integration, physical environment design, battery standardisation and behavioural inertia.

Your role will include dealing with managerial and administrative elements of the project, including internal administration and financial management, external partner and stakeholder management, liaising across academic partners (Leeds, Oxford and Brighton) and with the project.

You will have excellent organisational and communication skills, the ability to work independently and to plan and prioritise your own workload. You will be a team player who can build effective working relationships with staff at both Leeds and with our partner organisations. Your role will involve a high degree of autonomy, so it is essential that you have an independent and proactive approach to decision making and exceptional attention to detail.

You will be based within the Institute for Transport Studies which is one of the world’s leading centres for transport research and education.
