Faculty Aerospace Engineering

 

 

The faculty of Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology is one of the world's largest faculties devoted entirely to aerospace engineering. In the Netherlands it is the only research and education institute directly related to the aerospace engineering sector. It covers the whole spectrum of aerospace engineering subjects. In aeronautics, the faculty covers subjects ranging from aerodynamics and flight propulsion to structures and materials and from control and simulation to air transport and operations. In astronautics, topics include astrodynamics, space missions and space systems engineering. The faculty has around 2,700 BSc and MSc students, 225 PhD candidates and 27 professors supported by scientific staff.

The faculty's mission is to be the best Aerospace Engineering faculty in the world, inspiring and educating students through modern education techniques and enabling staff to perform ambitious research of the highest quality for the future of aerospace. SAM|XL is a recently founded collaborative research centre of the Delft University of Technology (DUT) and several Industrial partners in the province of South-Holland. As a 100% subsidiary of DUT, SAM|XL aims at enabling Aerospace manufacturing companies to make optimal use of smart advanced manufacturing.

 

 

 

World-class research from both the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and the Cognitive Robotics department of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is combined with challenges from industry. In a dedicated factory space of 2000 m2 SAM|XL is building a variety of large-scale, near production ready, automated manufacturing cells to conduct its development projects, in close collaboration with engineers from the partnering companies.           

 

Job description

 

Are you an enthusiastic and experienced programma manager with excellent communication skills and an eye for finances? Then you might be our new colleague!

 

At present, SAM|XL is looking to strengthen its team with a programme manager who effectively operates in between the CEO and the Technical Team. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

•              Writing program proposals, funding/subsidy acquisition, consortium formation, program implementation, management and reporting - in close collaboration with the CEO and the industry partners, and with input from the technical team.

 

•              Development of a subsidy strategy: what subsidy mechanism are available, how can the SAM|XL community optimally benefit from these mechanisms, and what subsidy mechanisms are on the horizon – in close collaboration with the TU Delft subsidy and financial experts.

 

•              Develop an in-house planning and reporting mechanism to efficiently link required and utilized resources (experts, hardware, software, space) to programs.    

 

Requirements

 

•              Minimum requirement: University degree (WO-level: based on the experience level of the candidate a HBO-level degree will be considered).

 

•              Technical background, preferably in the field of aeronautical or mechanical engineering, manufacturing or automation.

 

•              Fluent in Dutch and English (writing/speaking): French skills are a plus.

 

•              People skills in order to efficiently form and manage consortia and experience with engaging with large corporates.

 

•              Experience in project management.

 

•              Experience with subsidy programs and understand how a University operates.

 

•              Commercially minded with financial skills.

 

•              Wanting to work in a dynamic, creative an innovative environment.

 

•              Driven to make an impact.

 

•              Experience with MS Office: word, excel, powerpoint. Experience with planning software is a plus.   

 

Conditions of employment

 

The function is for 38 hours (1 FTE). The salary is based on scale 12, based on a full working week. This is a temporary appointment for one year. The TU Delft offers a customisable compensation package, a discount for health insurance and sport memberships, and a monthly work costs contribution. Flexible work schedules can be arranged. Coming to Delft Service provides diverse events to new international employees and their accompanying partners, like Partner Career Workshops and Dutch Culture Workshops. Located on campus are the International Children’s Centre and an international primary school which are subject to availability as well as several bilingual schools in the nearby surrounding. Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities.

 

You will have 232 hours of paid leave each year and in addition to your salary, at TU Delft you will receive an annual holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8.3% of your salary.
