Program Manager of Weiland Health Initiative in Psychologist

Provide management of endowment-based program promoting mental health and wellness across all genders and sexualities through offering/overseeing teaching and training programs, as well as provide individual, and/or group counseling and psychotherapy, crisis intervention, clinical consultation, outreach programming, and supervision of pre-doctoral interns, post-doctoral fellows, and psychiatry residents.



  • Provide a wide range of direct clinical services to a diverse student population with a focus on gender and sexual diversity.
  • Provide comprehensive outpatient mental health services and programs to a diverse student population.
  • Work with faculty and administrators in consultation, outreach, and other collaborative initiatives, including advocacy for students across the gender and sexuality spectrum.
  • Oversee clinician training in the area of gender and sexual diversity, which may include teaching clinical rotation on gender and sexual diversity; offering trainings for clinic; leading interdisciplinary Gender and Sexual Identities Consultation Group; and organizing/hosting annual conferences or symposia on sexual diversity and transgender health.
  • Conduct phone triage and schedule students for intake, medical evaluation, or referral to outside provider.
  • Provide intake evaluations, individual brief therapy, couples and group therapy, and psycho-educational groups as well as consultations and letters of support for trans and non-binary students seeking medical transition.
  • Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and management to students of concern or in crisis; assess need for higher-level care.
  • Evaluate and respond to emergency situations; provide consultation to campus for urgent/crisis situations.
  • Track students of concern or requiring higher levels of care, participate in discharge planning, and manage referrals.
  • Develop campus outreach through participation in educational programming and additional program development.
    • Increase knowledge and awareness of gender and sexual diversity and health across campus, which may include developing and offering workshops and trainings for the campus community; developing and teaching academic courses on this topic; creating written and online resources; and supporting students in conducting research/attending conferences on this subject area.
    • Act as liaison and consultant to Queer Student Resources and to other campus offices and programs as appropriate, such as Gender Inclusive Stanford, Title IX and the Program in Feminist, Gender & Sexuality Studies. This may include attending meetings and collaboration on the development of resources and events.
  • Participate in center meetings including Weiland Team meetings and development activities and complete special projects as assigned.
  • Oversee Gender & Sexual Identities Specialty post-doctoral psychology fellow and/or student staff.

Education & Experience:

  • PhD or PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology field and one year post-degree experience.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Expertise working with gender and sexual diversity, including LGBTQIA-identified students and alternative sexual identities such as polyamory and kink.
  • Five years of post-degree experience.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated clinical competence with gender and sexual diversity and intersectional identities in student populations. 
  • Proven ability to interact with diverse constituencies and communities: students of color, low-income/first-generation college students, students of faith, activists, etc.  
  • Expertise in clinical skills in evaluation, crisis intervention, and case management.
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Expertise in program development, design, and implementation.
  • Experience in collaborative work with multidisciplinary teams and other professional colleagues.
  • Demonstrated skills in consultative work with professional colleagues and other staff.


Certifications and Licenses:

  • Licensed Psychologist in California.



- Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.

- Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and rarely pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
