PROGRAM MANAGER, CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN ENERGY (COE), Mechanical Engineering, to support the overall management of the COE and in so doing achieve its strategic program objectives. Will be responsible for coordinating all program deliverables and ongoing efforts to launch a research program, coordinate the research effort, and supervise the timely completion of all project deliverables; serve as the key liaison between USAID, other university partners, and the project team; lead in engaging students in research efforts; supervise the dissemination of research efforts; represent the COE at conferences and events both within the U.S. and in other countries; establish and maintain good relationships with strategic, like-minded partners in multilateral agencies, nonprofit and nongovernmental organizations, and private industry; work with a communications officer to ensure effective communication and engagement strategies; and supervise the work of contractors in creating a vibrant website for the program.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; a minimum of four years' administration/operations and/or project/program management experience; experience managing technical issues related to research administration; excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills for managing multidepartment sponsored research efforts; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced research university; strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly the ability to write clearly and succinctly; and experience interacting with culturally diverse academic leaders, students, and research sponsors. Graduate degree in a technical field and a background in international developmental issues is preferred. Job #17501-9

Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.

This is a three-year position with possibility of extension.
