About the role:

Melbourne School of Government is seeking an experienced and motivated Program Coordinator to deliver its flagship Pathways to Politics Program for Women. Established in 2016, the Pathways to Politics Program for Women is a non-partisan initiative that provides a select group of women with the support and encouragement necessary to aspire to elected office at local, state and national levels.


The Program Coordinator will report to the Program and Engagement Manager and support provide high-level program and stakeholder management support to the Academic Coordinator.


This role will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Program, managing stakeholder communications, events delivery and provide executive support to the Advisor Committee.


The successful candidate is expected to have demonstrated program coordination experience, outstanding stakeholder management skills, experience in events deliver and, high level media and communications skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.


About you:

Ideally, you would have

    • The right combination of relevant work experience and education.

    • Excellent communication skills, including written and oral communication, with an ability to tailor information to a number of different audiences

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated capacity and confidence to liaise with clients both internally and externally

    • Capacity to initiate, manage and maintain partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders across government, political parties and the public sector and across international networks

    • Highly developed organisational, time management and project management skills, and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet project deadlines

    • Experience in managing media enquiries and drafting media releases, as well as digital communications, including the use of social media and content management systems and proficiency with the integration with traditional communication channels.
