Job Summary:


This position is primarily to communicate with students and guide them through curriculum requirements and schedules through the direction of the various Curriculum Committees and their Directors of their required and elective courses.


Required Education and Experience:


Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years relevant experience


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


Proficient computer skills in MS Office (word processing, database management, spreadsheets, PowerPoint).
Ability to communicate effectively and work closely with students faculty and health care professionals
Experience working with diverse individuals and communities

Other Requirements:


Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines.

Responsibilities:


Curriculum Management: Collaborate with coordinators and course leadership to coordinate and disseminate course materials (required or elective) in their respective area (Blocks, Threads, Clerkships, and Electives) within TAMHSC undergraduate medical education program. Administer curriculum utilizing a learning management system application as well as required software systems. Coordinate workflow of student schedules, documentation, evaluations, and grades of undergraduate program. Provide support in preparing for course activities, orientation, scheduling, simulation, supplies, course materials and any other activities requested. Coordinate activities related to educational conferences, meetings, lectures, laboratory sessions, examinations and special events as directed by curriculum and leadership
Communication and team cooperation: Respectful interaction with students, faculty and course leaders, administration as well as peers. Liaise between affiliate partners, clinics, and community with clear respectful and timely communication. Maintain strict confidentiality with regards to exams, quizzes, and planning information prior to implementation
Accreditation: Maintain and coordinate data required to comply with institutional program and accreditation requirements in a timely manner
Understanding and knowledge of UGME education policies and procedures, and medical student handbook guidelines: Ensure access to policy and procedures, and student handbook. Assist in carrying out policies and procedures. Follow established chain of command with student inquiries and issues
Budgeting and Fiscal Support: Assist to develop clinical education budget for Phase education program for respective campuses. Reconciliation of clinical education units for contact unit reimbursement. Timely processing of certifications for payment processing
Professional Identity, and creating a positive working atmosphere: Cooperation with current and new mandated initiatives. Take initiative in planning and compliance. Maintain confidentiality. Complete tasks appropriately and timely. Participate in scholarly activity, reading journal articles, creating posters, presentations, publications
Assist with special projects, events, and duties as assigned
