Aalto University’s Aalto Studios is the media centre of the future. It weaves together the players of the creative economy: designers, filmmakers, game developers, architects, youtubers, artists, engineers, programmers, educators & researchers, angel investors and public-sector operators in Finland, Scandinavia, Europe and beyond. Aalto Studios facilitates education, research and artistic activities in film and TV, games and animation, VR/AR/MR, motion and perceptual data capture, digitalization of teaching and fast prototyping.

At Aalto Studios we are now looking for a Production Coordinator. The position is permanent starting on 1.9.2019. We may consider a later starting date.

Coordination, coordination, coordination. Problem solving is your second nature. You do not always go for the obvious solution, but are able to dig a little deeper to reorganize the puzzle. Your interpersonal skills match your analytical side and you are able to keep the clients happy as you coordinate our services for their sometimes conflicting needs and schedules.

Your role and goals

Aalto Studios Production Coordinator is in charge of the daily bookings of our production resources from studios to theatres to post-production to cinemas and virtual reality facilities. The daily duties include liasing with our internal and external clients on booking needs and availabilities. Bookings are often complicated and need to be analysed and coordinated. Additionally to communicating with our clients the Production Coordinator ensures that our personnel at the facilities are up to date with bookings and our clients’ needs. Sometimes Production Coordinator also books external facilites to compliment our own. Depending on the candidate the position may include managerial role/duties.


Your experience and ambitions

  • Related degree and/or adequate media industry experience
  • Excellent customer service skills and extensive organizational experience
  • Self-starter – ability to independently manage a core section of our service portfolio
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic competence
  • Experience in AV-productions (production & post, experience in at least one is a must)
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in report generation
  • Fluent in Finnish & English (oral + written)
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Salary is internationally competitive with other universities and Aalto University provides health care benefits. The position’s pay grade is at level 8 (Other personnel) in Finnish Universities’ pay grade system, depending on the experience and skill level of the candidate.
