Managing Director Zero Carbon Building Systems Lab

80%-100%, Zurich, fixed-term

The Professorship of Architecture and Building Systems (A/S) is an interdisciplinary team of researchers focusing on active and passive systems for the energy supply and climate control of buildings. The motivation and aim of our research is to realise a CO2-neutral built environment that efficiently consumes and produces energy while providing high user comfort. In 2023, we opened our new Zero Carbon Building Systems Lab, an exceptional experimental space for advancing research and teaching. For this new lab, we are searching for a Managing Director to help us establish the lab as an international nucleus of research on Zero Carbon Buildings.

Project background

The Zero Carbon Building Systems Lab is unique state-of-the-art infrastructure that will house a collaborative environment for external researchers and industry partners. The reconfigurable lab can support a wide range of research and testing of building technology, as well as user acceptance and interaction studies. Specifically this includes, but is not limited to, research on building systems and components in varied phases of development (e.g. from early proof-of-concept validation - to - system demonstration). The lab will also be instrumental to collecting data on measurable dimensions of performance of the innovations emerging from our and partner research within the NCCR Digital Fabrication.
