Your role
  1. Software Budgeting:
  • Collect information for budgeting and forecast purposes
  • Review and update actual costs vs planned spending per year
  • Software Purchasing:
  • Evaluate the purpose of new software and the impact on our environment and other applications, in conjunction with our IT teams
  • Work with IT, Central Procurement, and the software distributor or vendor to purchase software
  • Software Inventory Management:
  • Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all software assets
  • Track software licenses, versions, and installations
  • Compliance and Licensing:
  • Propose and adapt the best licensing strategy according to the needs, market trends, and overall value
  • Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements
  • Conduct regular audits to verify software usage and compliance
  • Optimization and Cost Management:
  • Analyze software usage patterns to identify opportunities for cost savings for renewals, software licensing, and services
  • Optimize software deployment and usage to maximize value
  • Policy Development and Implementation:
  • Develop and enforce software asset management policies
  • Educate staff and faculty on software asset management best practices
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Generate regular reports on software inventory, usage, and compliance
  • Maintain detailed documentation of software assets and related processes

 

Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software asset management or a related role.
  • Strong knowledge of software licensing and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in asset management tools and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB is a plus.
  • Certification in ITIL v4 Foundation and/or IT Asset Management (ITAM) is a plus.
