Manager of Institute
Catholic University of Leuven

The recently established KU Leuven Plant Institute (LPI) brings together all plant-related research at the University of Leuven / KU Leuven, from molecule to ecosystem and from test tube to field. It will create a stimulating interdisciplinary community for discovery, training and information with the aim of fully recognizing and utilising the potential of plants to help create a more sustainable future. More specifically, the institute will define strategic research lines and associated opportunities (for multi- and interdisciplinary collaboration, funding, and valorization) and will coordinate and optimise resources, infrastructure and expert support. In addition, the institute aims to increase the visibility of KU Leuven’s plant-related research and will function as a central point of contact within the university as well as for the broader research community, policy makers, industry, press and general public.
