The Opportunity Engineers possess a rare combination – a seamless blend of the practical and the creative. It’s a profession that tackles society’s challenges and makes the world a better place to live. The Monash Faculty of Engineering is Australia’s top engineering school, renowned worldwide for the quality and calibre of our teaching, research and graduate. We know that a system is only as good as its components, and that it’s the little details that make up the bigger picture. We focus on research and education that deliver sustainable solutions for society’s global challenges – climate, energy, resources, food, infrastructure, transportation, water, health, communications, and security. Our team is genuinely world-class – committed to purposeful scientific discovery, collaboration, entrepreneurial activity and strong partnerships across industry, government and not-for-profit sectors. As part of our commitment to excellence and innovation, and powered by our continual growth, a position exists for a talented, passionate, ambitious operations and infrastructure leader to join our exciting and cutting-edge environment. The Manager, Operations and Infrastructure is a key member of the Faculty’s leadership team, and will play a pivotal role in supporting and delivering strategic achievements. The position sits on, and works closely with, the Faculty Executive. It leads and manages the Faculty’s operational planning program and delivers substantial value to the Faculty’s research and education endeavours, by ensuring world’s best practice is applied to our technical resources; our facilities including our Makerspaces and Smart Manufacturing Precinct; and our associated equipment and Occupational Health Safety and Environment (OHSE) and University Enterprise and Governance. The successful candidate will utilise their strong business acumen and business development capability to act as a fulcrum, connecting the infrastructure and facilities of the Faculty and the Departments with the broader University and its partners. They will build and maintain robust relationships with key stakeholders and manage complex projects, and in doing so attain a profound understanding of the Faculty’s operations that enables the translation of strategic plans into major infrastructure initiatives. If this sounds like a challenge you would relish, you are strongly encouraged to apply. This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated. At Monash University, we are committed to being a Child Safe organisation. Some positions at the University will require the incumbent to hold a valid Working with Children Check.
