About the role We are looking for two office / site based Assistant Project Manager to join our Estates Development team and provide project management support across a varied portfolio of capital projects. Working alongside Project Managers and wider UCL teams, you will help ensure projects are delivered effectively, in line with UCL’s governance requirements, project processes and standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their project management career within a complex and dynamic organisation. You will gain experience across the construction project lifecycle and contribute to projects that have a tangible impact on the UCL community. Your responsibilities will include: Supporting the delivery of capital projects from pre-project activities through to completion and post-project review. Organising and supporting project and programme meetings, including preparing minutes and maintaining action logs. Supporting the development and approval of business cases and project documentation. Supporting the appointment and management of consultants and contractors. Preparing and maintaining project risk registers and supporting change control processes. Raising and managing purchase orders, contractor work permits and other project requirements. Supporting contract administration and ensuring project processes and governance requirements are followed. Supporting project delivery by attending site visits to monitor project progress. Attending site to support project handover. Support project delivery by attending construction sites to undertake health and safety inspections. Working collaboratively with colleagues across UCL to coordinate project activities and help achieve successful outcomes. About you You will have experience of working in project management, project support or a related construction environment, together with an understanding of the project lifecycle. You will be organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities. With excellent attention to detail, you will be confident coordinating meetings, maintaining project information and producing clear and concise reports and correspondence. We are looking for someone with: A degree or equivalent qualification, or significant relevant experience in project management or a project support role. An understanding of the project lifecycle, from pre-project activities through to completion and review. Experience of delivering or supporting projects or elements of projects through to successful completion. Experience supporting project or programme meetings, including maintaining action and decision logs. The ability to coordinate and plan multiple tasks and project activities. An understanding of project planning, including estimating effort, scheduling resources and identifying dependencies. Excellent organisational, planning and communication skills. Strong attention to detail, literacy and numeracy skills. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. The ability to build effective working relationships and work collaboratively as part of a project team. The ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
