The Audit, Risk and Compliance portfolio provides leadership, consultation, and support within HBKU for internal audit, risk, compliance, business continuity, and crisis management. HBKU seeks applications for the position of Risk and Compliance Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective risk and compliance function, employing both operational and technical knowledge of risk and compliance management systems in accordance with HBKU's overall strategic direction and vision. Key Responsibilities Lead the Risk and Compliance Department, including managing HBKU’s compliance breach reporting program. Maintain HBKU’s risk and compliance programs, including policy, procedures, and frameworks, ensuring strategies, programs, and solutions control risks, improve operational efficiency, and ensure regulatory compliance. Manage risk monitoring, assessments, and reporting (including breaches, incidents, key risk indicators, risk registers, and compliance obligations). Conduct risk assessments and identify emerging risks. Provide subject matter expertise, specialist advice, and training on risk and compliance, staying updated with current trends and issues. Develop and provide accurate reports to the Director of Risk and Compliance, senior management, and the Board (especially the Audit Committee), enabling informed decision-making regarding risk and compliance obligations. Lead and manage operations of the Risk and Compliance Department, ensuring resources and systems support HBKU’s objectives, including software functionality for risk, compliance, and business continuity programs. Increase awareness and knowledge of risk and compliance management across HBKU through training, communications, and engagement initiatives. Lead and manage the implementation of the integrity framework, including investigation processes for whistleblower, fraud, and corruption allegations. Perform any other duties as assigned, commensurate with the scope and classification of the position. Qualifications and Requirements Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Compliance, Business Management, or a related field. Minimum 8–10 years of experience in Risk Management, Compliance, and/or Crisis Management. Working knowledge of the regulatory standards of the State of Qatar. Hands-on experience with compliance policies, budget preparation, control, monitoring, and best practices. Skills and Competencies Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and presentation skills; training experience preferred. Strong analytical, planning, and time management skills. Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft and edit reports and communications clearly and concisely. Arabic proficiency is an advantage. Proficiency in MS Office applications.
