MANAGER OF BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS, MIT Information Initiative (MITii), to aid the director in setting strategy and growing and fostering external interactions that advance Project Manus’ leadership role. Will help establish and cultivate relationships with donors, industrial partners, foundations, and government agencies. Responsibilities include growing and maintaining the industrial membership of the Make Impact Consortium (MIC) and major external partnerships (e.g., donors); working with the director to identify recruiting goals and strategies for industrial MIC members; researching prospective members/partners and advising director on fit with Project Manus’ goals; advising the director on new partnership opportunities; working with director to develop and present materials for recruiting partners; recruiting and cultivating partners; planning, proposing, assessing, and optimizing effectiveness of programs for partnerships; monitoring partner interactions and ensuring satisfaction; providing updates on partnership recruiting, retention, and finances; creating and maintaining a partner communications database; collaborating on university-industry recruiting; identifying and attending venues appropriate for recruiting; developing curriculum and helping deliver maker-focused classes for entrepreneurs; and other duties as needed.


Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least five years’ relevant experience (development, sales, customer relations, fund-raising, partnership building and cultivation, etc.); experience with fund-raising in a higher education/nonprofit setting; strong organizational and planning skills; ability to initiate, collaborate, implement, monitor, evaluate, and advance strategic plans; detail orientation; self-motivation; ability to work independently, manage multiple projects/priorities, and meet challenging deadlines; sound professional judgment; desire to learn core maker skills; deep understanding/appreciation of the importance of making to entrepreneurship; excellent, organizational, planning, time-management, interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills; and ability to seek out root causes of issues, conceive innovative solutions, and move from concept to implementation.
