Manager in Enrolment Systems and Technology

Reporting to the Director, Information Systems & Business Development, this position is responsible for managing and optimizing the University's undergraduate recruitment, undergraduate admissions and enrolment management systems & technology. As the primary administrator for the Undergraduate admissions and recruitment system CRM (Slate), this position works in close partnership with the Director and leadership team members within the Office of the Registrar, as well as Faculties to develop technology solutions to continuously improve our admissions and recruitment business practices and processes. The Manager, Enrolment Systems & Technology is responsible for overseeing and supporting technology systems that generate over $4 million dollars in application fees per year, as well as generates tuition and fees revenue that represents 30% of the University budget.

This position is responsible for providing direction, operational leadership and business advice to units within the Office of the Registrar, Faculties and other central business units (University of Alberta International, Dean of Students, etc.) and the campus community on all matters related to our admissions and recruitment CRM system (Slate) and our ERP PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. The Manager, Enrolment Systems & Technology has both an understanding of the technical underpinnings of Slate and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions applications and a strong functional understanding of these systems within a higher education or public sector environment.

This individual will guide our teams and stakeholders to fully utilize our technology systems to improve operational efficiency and customer service in: our prospect and recruitment initiatives; our undergraduate admissions application; and, evaluation management processes which support the institutional enrolment management goals.


  • An undergraduate degree/technical diploma from a post-secondary institute or related experience.
  • Five or more years of experience managing, implementing and supporting Slate and PeopleSoft Campus Solutions applications with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of CRM(Slate, SalesForce, Microsoft Dynamics, Campus Management, etc) and ERP (PeopleSoft, Banner, SAP, etc.) applications and complex business issues.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application development and implementation methodology.
  • Strong understanding of supporting cloud-based applications.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to multitask within a fast paced and dynamic workplace; Strong business acumen.
  • Experience within a large, complex, multi-faceted organizations at a tactical level within a post-secondary institution or the public sector.
  • Applied project management and business analysis skills and experience; Understanding of the ITIL framework and how it applies in an enterprise application management environment.
  • Proven organizational change management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle changing deadlines, in a dynamic work environment; excellent communication, facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and thrive in a team environment; and, self-starter who is willing to initiate action.

In accordance with the Administrative and Professional Officer Agreement, this full-time continuing position offers a comprehensive benefits package found at Faculty & Staff Benefits and an annual salary range of $64,553 to $107,593.
