Catholic University of Leuven

The newly founded Leuven Institute for Micro- and Nanoscale Integration (LIMNI) is looking for a motivated manager who is not afraid to be the locomotive of a new initiative and sees this as an opportunity. KU Leuven hosts a wide variety of researchers that work at the micro- and nanoscale. Many of these groups are well-known or even world-leading in their respective fields. However, sharing and integrating the knowledge of these experts and building a network of external partners is required to address tomorrow’s challenges. LIMNI targets these untapped opportunities by providing a structure to coordinate activities, and explore, develop, and exploit strategic synergies.

·      integrating materials and other technologiesdeveloped by LIMNI researchers at the wafer scale or system level

·      facilitating the fabrication of demonstrators

·      providing consultancy on micro- andnanofabrication

·      integration of materials and other technologiesdeveloped by institute members at wafer scale or system level

We are looking for:

·      A motivated and proactive candidate with a PhD (in Microelectronics, Microsystem Technology (or MEMS), Materials Chemistry, Physics, or a related field in Science and Engineering) or equivalent through experience, e.g. in industry.

·      A self-driven individual who takes initiative to build bridges between different disciplines within KU Leuven and between the university and external partners.

·      A passion for novel materials, chemistry, physics and technology, and willing to work as part of an interdisciplinary team.

·      Since we target real-world applications through our research, an interest in valorization (e.g., spin-off creation) and identification of research needs (e.g., through setting up technology roadmaps)is required.

·      Be part of a newly founded institute from day 1and shape how it operates and evolves

·      Build bridges between research groups andexternal partners to address interdisciplinary scientific challenges
