Lead Industry Liaison Officer, College Of Medicine And Health, University College Cork

Specific Purpose Whole-time Post

(anticipated duration of 3.5 years)

UCC wishes to appoint to the role of Lead Industry Liaison Officer. The newly established post of Lead Industry Liaison Officer is directly connected to and funded through Pillar 3 (Innovation and Agility) of the Human Capital Initiative (HCI). The iEd Hub is a HCI-funded project which will be delivered by a consortium led by University College Cork and includes Cork Institute of Technology/Munster Technological University and 9 enterprise partners.

The funding awarded under HCI will allow the consortium to develop, over the next 4 years, a novel, agile educational platform to produce next generation graduates for the Health & Life Science industry sector in Ireland. The initiative is an important element of the University’s strategy to develop an Academic Health System with a focus on improving health, health care and quality of life through strong partnership among the Health Service, the University and Industry in the Munster region. This programme will support the development of both Pharma and Health Tech industries and strengthen their partnership with the University, MTU/CIT and the Health Service.
The iEd Hub will contribute significantly to the growth of the Cork region as an internationally renowned hub for health and life science industry, by providing uniquely skilled human capital to grow both indigenous and multinational company activity.
To ensure an active and responsive relationship with all partners, and to ensure that we continue to meet their needs, Industry Liaison Officers will be appointed and will be located within the enterprise partner companies and relevant enterprise bodies, as well as iEd Hub offices.

Appointment may be made on the Admin II Salary Scale: €61,024 – €77,038 (Scale B) / €€58,066 - €73,320 Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
