Junior Administrator, IT Services   ( Preferred UAE Nationals )

Department: IT Services Center 

Position Summary:

The Junior Admin, IT Services will install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade computer hardware, software, personal computer networks and peripheral equipment. 

The employee in this position will assess user training needs and train user in effective use of applications, and provide user assistance.

Major Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities are outlined as follows:

  1. Complete IT Technical Support to UD community. This includes hardware, software and all the computer labs.
  2. Provide system administration and operational support to access granted servers and applications.
  3. Assist with preparation and delivery of trainings and its related materials.
  4. Follow & implement the UD Policies & Procedures with regards to the usage of IT resources.
  5. Continually seek opportunities to develop self and if applicable subordinates.
  6. Implement duties in line with the IT policy standards, Security and Health & Safety requirements.
  7. Implement any other duties as assigned by the Department Head.

Position Required Skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in is Experience in a technical support role.
  • Strong knowledge of system testing best practices and methodologies.
  • Advanced hardware troubleshooting skills.
  • Desktop/laptop/network troubleshooting skills.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, Operating Systems, Networks, Printers, and Scanners.
  • Setting up accounts & Emails for new users.
  • Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary.
  • Manage Help Desk tickets in a timely manner.
  • Responding to queries on the phone, via email, in person, or through remote access.
  • Excellent customer service attitude.
  • Ability to collaborate with a variety of personalities and skillsets, and improve the quality of IT processes, services and products.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and customer service skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively and professionally under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with a strong aptitude and desire to learn.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Successfully perform job duties in accordance with defined procedures and with limited supervision.

Position Desired Skills:

Previous experience in education/higher education industry.
