About the Role

This post is to help facilitate diabetes recruitment and research delivery in the entire research portfolio, especially in clinical trials at QMUL and Barts Health NHS Trust, thereby increasing our accrual rate of people participating in diabetes research. The candidate will also support the team in all other aspects of research work from recruitment through to organising research visits, gaining informed consent, undertaking basic laboratory work and completing data entry, audit and archiving. The role also involves the maintenance of the DARE diabetes database including liaising with NHS Digital, data entry, conducting patient searches and organising mail merges to invite participants into studies.

About You

We are looking for someone who can help the team with all aspects of research administration and maintenance of the DARE database. This role requires meticulous data entry, attention to detail, and good administrative management. Applicants require experience of patient recruitment and will ideally have a working knowledge of GP databases.

About the Institute

The Blizard Institute is the largest institute of Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry and aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service. The Blizard has 7 main research centres, and diabetes research is part of the Centre for Genomics and Child Health. The diabetes clinical specialty consists of dedicated clinical academics carrying out translational work to directly impact upon and improve the lives and clinical outcomes of diabetes patients in the local population.  The group works closely with Barts Health NHS Trust, CCGs and General Practices.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus in London. It is part time (28 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 1 year, with an expected start date of late November to early December 2020. The starting salary will be Grade 4, in the range of £34,330 - £40,194 per annum (pro-rata), inclusive of London Allowance.
