Human Resources
UQ Human Resources is responsible for enabling achievement of the University’s strategic ambitions through attracting and developing high performing staff, and delivers high quality advice and support to our clients on all aspects of HR and people matters.


HR is currently undergoing significant transformation (including new systems, specialist services, process review and redesign, and improved data and analytics capability) to become one of the leading HR functions in Australia, and is building a team of exceptional HR professionals to provide customer focused and contemporary solutions and services for our clients.


HR is seeking an exceptional individual within our Employee Services team to provide outstanding client service and efficient and effective payroll and administrative duties for a dedicated client portfolio.

The Role
The HR Services Officer is accountable for the efficient and effective management and coordination of all HR/Payroll transaction processing to meet the operational and service delivery needs of a dedicated client portfolio.


The position plays a key role in data integrity and client service, and is responsible for approving the delivery of HR/Payroll transactions processed by a number of HR Services Assistants assigned to them. This includes troubleshooting complex HRIS transactions and issues emerging throughout the employee lifecycle including recruitment, induction, probation, secondment, appointment, immigration, staff leave, academic sabbatical, performance appraisal, and payroll and remuneration administration processing.


The role contributes to the development and implementation of business processes and standard operating procedures to ensure the consistent application of HR policy and key HR/Payroll transactions and the achievement of high standards of service quality, timeliness and accuracy. The role ensures all HR transactions processed are in compliance with relevant policies and /or external legislative and regulatory controls on a fortnightly basis.

The Person
To be successful in this role you should possess a degree in a relevant field plus extensive knowledge and experience in using enterprise-wide HR/Payroll Information Systems. The ability to prioritise your work and the work of others, together with strong problem solving and judgement skills, data integrity and analysis skills, and excellent client service skills is essential.

Salary and Benefits
This is a full-time, fixed term appointment until 31 December 2019 at HEW Level 5. The remuneration package will be in the range $67,608 to $75,506 per annum plus employer superannuation contributions of 9.5%. Total package will be in the range $74,031 to $82,679 per annum.
