Become part of our Constructor Community and complete the Finance Department in the north of Bremen as 

Head of Finance Systems and Automation (m/f/d) 

(full-time, 38.5 hours/week, permanent) 

About the role: 

You will lead the strategic development and ongoing management of the university's ERP system, focusing on streamlining and automating financial processes while integrating systems across various departments to improve operational efficiency. 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Strategic Leadership in the ongoing management and optimization of the ERP system within the Finance department and in collaboration with senior management to align the ERP strategies with university goals 

  • System Integration with other departments’ systems (e.g. Accounting, Grants Management, Procurement, Billing, HR, Controlling, Tax, etc.) and Automationof key processes 

  • Identify and implement process optimizations, develop process documentation  

  • Oversee and conduct Change Management initiatives to facilitate a smooth transition with new systems  

  • EngageStakeholders at all levels to gather requirements, provide updates, address concerns and train throughout ongoing system use and optimization 

  • Ensure that the ERP system and related processes comply with local regulations, university policies, and industry standards in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams 

  • Maintain comprehensive reporting and documentation for system processes, changes, updates and tracking of system performance 

Your qualifications: 

  • Universitydegree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Project Management or related field 

  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles, standards, and techniques, with the ability to apply them to ERP system design and optimization 

  • Proven experience in a leadership role within large organizations or academic settings 

  • Strong understanding of ERP systems and modules (Finance, HR, Procurement, etc.) with hands-on experience in managing and optimizing system integrations 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and implement improvements in business processes 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization 

  • Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) is desirable
