Organization: Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) OverviewThe Materials Science and Technology Division (MSTD) at ORNL seeks a Section Head to lead Materials in Extremes research, focusing on metallic, ceramic, and composite materials for harsh environments such as nuclear energy, fusion, combustion, space, transportation, and bioenergy. This leadership role combines scientific research and strategic management, reporting to the Division leadership and serving as a Distinguished R&D Staff Member. You will guide world-class research programs, mentor team leaders, oversee experimental facilities including LAMDA and mechanical test labs, and drive the Division’s mission in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
