The Admission and Registration Directorate invites applications for the Financial Aid Specialist position.
Your Commitment
Reporting to the Manager, Student Services, Admission and Registration Directorate, the successful candidate will support students and families through the financial aid process at the University by providing personalized guidance, assessing eligibility and facilitating access to essential resources ensuring timely delivery of accurate information and funding to students.
Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide personalized information and guidance to students and their families about the financial aid process, explaining eligibility requirements, application procedures and the various aid programs available at the university. The successful candidate will assess students' financial needs and eligibility for the diverse range of financial aid options offered by the University. Also, assist students in completing financial aid applications ensuring they have the all necessary documentation to support their application. The successful candidate will determine and package the financial aid awards for eligible students by carefully considering their financial need, academic status and the availability of funding. At the same time, coordinate the efficient and timely disbursement of financial aid funds to students' accounts ensuring they receive the support they need promptly. The successful candidate will maintain accurate and confidential records of financial aid applications, awards and associated documents ensuring compliance with university policies. Similarly, process and carefully review financial aid appeals from students with special circumstances or changes in their financial situations. The successful candidate will monitor students' academic progress to ensure compliance with the requirements and maintain financial aid eligibility at UDST. Likewise, engage in effective communication with students, parents and other university staff by providing clear and helpful information regarding financial aid matters. The successful candidate will organize and conduct financial aid workshops or presentations aiming to educate students and families on the financial aid process and available opportunities at UDST. Also, analyze financial aid data to identify trends, assess the effectiveness of financial aid programs and propose improvements to enhance support. The successful candidate will collaborate with various university departments, such as admissions and student services, to foster overall student success and retention. At the same time, contribute in the development and implementation of creative strategies to increase awareness of scholarships and awards available to students among both students and faculty. The successful candidate will ensure awards and scholarship applications are submitted, recipients are selected and congratulatory letters, awards, certificates and cheques are prepared according to established timelines providing students with timely recognition and support. Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required
Experience Minimum 5 years of Financial Aid experience
Language Fluency in written and spoken English language is required. Fluency in written and spoken Arabic language is preferred.
Other Required Skills
