The Opportunity


The Executive Assistant/Project Officer is responsible for providing executive administrative support to the CEO, ensuring all administrative matters are prioritised and handled efficiently and effectively and with a high level of confidentiality. In consultation with the CEO, the role will attend to company secretarial functions, manage meetings, deal with correspondence and support visitors. The role will often be the first point of contact for the NUW Alliance and will therefore be expected to support the ethos and goals of the NUW Alliance. 


The Organisation


The NUW Alliance, a commitment by the University of Newcastle (UON), the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and the University of Wollongong (UOW), aims to explore some of the short and long-term challenges impacting NSW to generate benefits for the State as well as the Australian economy. With a geographical reach from the Mid North Coast to the South Coast – home to 25% of Australia’s population - this collaboration is the first grouping of its kind in Australia and is modelled on similar regionally-based research alliances in the United Kingdom and USA.


About the Successful Applicant


You can demonstrate your success providing executive support to senior management in a fast-paced and complex environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a customer service focus and the ability to liaise with a variety of stakeholders is also required, as well as a high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite including the use of Visio and record management tools.
