Discovery Coordinator University of Adelaide Australia

The Discovery Coordinator manages the Discovery team, which provides metadata and discovery services across the library’s collections, supports Course Readings and is responsible for content within the institutional repository (Adelaide Research & Scholarship). A key aspect of this role is to identify areas and opportunities across the library to improve discoverability of library and repository content, utilise existing metadata skill sets, streamline workflows and make current processes more efficient.


The successful candidate will have strengths in process improvement, change management and team leadership, with an understanding of the importance of discovery services in the academic context.


To be successful you will need: 

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver discovery services in a higher education environment.
  • A contemporary understanding of emerging discovery trends and technology.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emerging trends in scholarly communication.
  • Proven ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers ensuring objectives are achieved and customer needs are met.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate staff and actively contribute to a collaborative, dynamic team environment.
