Under the management of the University of Alberta's Campus Saint-Jean (CSJ), the Center collegial de l'Alberta (CCA) is an institution offering renowned training and professional development opportunities across Canada and beyond. the world for its innovation, the quality and relevance of its programs and courses, its customer service, and its expertise.

 

Reporting directly to the Dean of the Faculté Saint-Jean and Chief Executive Officer of the Campus Saint-Jean and working closely with the Senior Vice-Dean and guided by the Executive Committee of the Center collegial de Alberta, the Director of the Alberta Colleges Center is responsible for all CCA activities. As a member of the Saint John Campus senior management team and working closely with its other members, the CCA Director will coordinate strategic planning activities, lead the CCA operations and establish special relationships. with the various communities, provincial, national and even international partners. The Director of the CCA is responsible for the spectrum of tasks related to the effective management of the CSF. He / she implements the strategic priorities of the CSF in the context of the CSJ, including the application of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) policies.

 

responsibilities

  • Develops, monitors and updates the CCL's three to five year strategic plan and administers the evaluation process

  • Identify, on a regular basis, the relevant clientele and organizations in the community

  • Develops and implements cooperation plans, including partnership agreements with employers and businesses to create practical training and employment opportunities

  • Establishes and coordinates work processes that ensure the effective achievement of CCL goals and objectives.

  • Ensures that the structures, policies and procedures in place meet the standards of the University of Alberta

  • Monitors the quality of teaching at CCL

  • Develops, implements and evaluates a comprehensive information strategy for the delivery of effective and quality programs that align with the goals and priorities of the CSJ and the University

  • Develops and implements appropriate administrative systems and procedures to ensure optimal use of resources, in collaboration with the Operations and Corporate Support Department

  • Collaborates with CCL's Technology and Innovation Office

  • Oversees the improvement, implementation and maintenance of innovative tools and methods for academic activities

  • Manages the overall budget of the CCA portfolio: Develops and administers annual operating and capital budgets, including the preparation, presentation and monitoring of the annual budget.

  • Respect budgetary controls

  • Prepares and reports to the Dean on CCL activities and progress

  • Provides leadership and guidance in the design, planning and development of strategic plans and objectives as part of the development of CCL's international recruitment strategy.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree with several years experience in a senior or executive position, ideally in a post-secondary education environment

  • Knowledge of university governance systems, university policies, regulations, procedures and operational requirements

  • Strong knowledge of learning technologies and distance education

  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and English

  • Proven ability to convey complex concepts and legislative issues in French and English

  • Superior oral and written skills for interpersonal relationships and facilitation, negotiation and mediation

  • Understanding concepts, principles and policies of equity, diversity and inclusion

  • Significant experience in providing strategic advice and support to senior management. The incumbent must be proactive in terms of perspective and behavior

  • Ability to act decisively and to exercise a high degree of initiative and judgment on a wide range of issues, sometimes thorny

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Discretion and ability to respect confidentiality

  • Ability to deal with ambiguous issues and handle sensitive situations appropriately

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills and well-developed organizational skills with excellent ability to conduct multiple files at once

  • Ability to manage and perform in a fast paced, challenging and stressful environment

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and work collaboratively

  • Practical experience in supervising a variety of employees

  • Solid leadership guarantees a proven ability to manage human resources in a large organization

  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and coordinate records at the highest levels of an organization

  • Ability to research, analyze and summarize complex issues

  • Exceptional judgment and strong political sense with a non-partisan approach to providing information and advice. 

In accordance with the  "  Handbook of Employment for Management and Professional Staff (Excluded)  ", this permanent position offers a full benefits package, which can be accessed at:  Faculty & Staff Benefits  and an annual salary range of $ 66,265 at $ 110,441. The salary will be based on experience and qualifications.
