The Director of Student Experience will play a key role in ensuring our graduates gain the greatest benefit from the course and the opportunities afforded to them, whatever their future direction. You will thus work closely with students and with staff to improve the student learning experience, through understanding student needs, the structure of the different courses and the resources available to help each student achieve their potential.

Duties and responsibilities

We are aiming to recruit an enthusiastic individual to assist in the organisation and delivery of taught programmes, monitor their effectiveness and to oversee the programme for engagement and development of students throughout their course.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Contributing to the organisation and delivery of taught programmes and monitoring their effectiveness
  • Engaging directly with students, using their specific expertise to contribute to the taught programmes
  • Guiding students to make best use of College and Departmental facilities to further their personal development and to build good working relations with their fellow students.

Essential requirements

    • First degree in engineering or a science-related subject.
    • Significant experience of delivering high quality teaching.
    • Experience of producing written reports.
    • Demonstrable ability to engage effectively with students at undergraduate level.
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative whilst also working as part of a larger team.
    • Ability to work and deal diplomatically but assertively with a wide range of people of all levels of seniority.
    • Accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Adaptable, flexible and receptive to new ideas and approaches.
    • The ability to communicate well, conveying ideas and concepts clearly and effectively.
