UNSW Business School is a leader in business education and research in the Asian region and one of the largest Business Schools in Australia with more than 15,000 students, 500 academic and professional staff and more than 80,000 alumni and partners. Why your role matters

As the Director-UNSW Online you will play a key role at AGSM, UNSW Business School. You will be responsible for the oversight, strategic direction, and operations of UNSW Online Programs.

You will establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, internal and external to UNSW, and collaborate to deliver a contemporary curriculum and an enhanced online student learning experience.

The role reports to the AGSM Academic Director and has no direct reports.

Your day to day

Specific accountabilities for this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Academic leadership in the strategic direction and operational planning of the UNSW Online programs, ensuring compliance with university governance, policy and procedures, and alignment with Business School and University initiatives and strategy.
  • Establish productive and effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, building proactive collaboration with UNSW Schools, Faculties, Divisions, and external partners.
  • In consultation with the AGSM Academic Director, monitor metrics of success (progression and attrition) and lead the development and implementation of plans for growth, assessing market research and identifying pipeline opportunities for scalability.
  • Liaise with UNSW Schools, Faculties, Divisions and external partners, to facilitate information sharing and the provision of advice and support in term (hexamester) planning.
  • Manage academic program reviews, and escalated student matters, adhering to UNSW’s governance structure and timelines and leading the development, monitoring and implementation of recommendations.

Who you are

You will have:

  • A PhD in a business-related discipline or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Proven record of management experience, change management and effective leadership and team building capabilities within a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding of higher-education administrative practices as well as of University and Faculty governance, policy and procedural frameworks.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the delivery of education (preferably online) in a Business School setting, including an understanding of emerging trends in Business education both within Australia and internationally.
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to deal with multiple tasks, establish priorities and meet deadlines.
