The Opportunity Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) is a leading public art museum and dynamic site for contemporary art, art-led education and research. Located in the distinct Art, Design and Architecture precinct of Monash University’s Caulfield campus, MUMA brings art and audiences together through a diverse program of exhibitions, commissions, publishing, public programming, and education, and through custodianship of the Monash University Collection, one of Australia’s most important and accessible collections of contemporary Australian art. Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA) is seeking an exceptional Director to lead and oversee its innovative and experimental contemporary art program. As the Director of MUMA, you will be responsible for ensuring MUMA delivers a program of artistic excellence that engages audiences and enhances the cultural and intellectual life of the university and the community. With your well-established and extensive professional networks of relationships and alliances with artists, curators, galleries and art institutions, you will lead a team of dedicated arts professionals to deliver MUMA’s artistic program, while establishing and strengthening the museum’s relationships and key partnerships. In addition, you will manage MUMA's budget while enhancing and diversifying its income sources through professional partnerships, funding applications and fundraising. Your outstanding record of excellence in curatorial practice, including artistic commissioning and programming, collection management, and the development of curatorial practices will be highly beneficial to your success in this role.
