DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS, Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), to oversee the business affairs of the MGHPCC data center and consortium (BU, Harvard, MIT, Northeastern, and UMass); support the consortium's research, education, and outreach activities; and develop, manage, and adjust business processes as the organization evolves. Responsibilities include managing the business and financial systems for internal operation of the MGHPCC; assisting consortium-member staff in navigating the legal and organizational logistics of the consortium; developing/maintaining working relationships with state, city, and regional community organizations, local industry, and individuals to promote economic development and educational opportunities, especially for underserved populations; managing business relationships with vendors, contractors, and non-member users of the facility, including contracts, invoicing, and reporting; managing the life-cycle of grants and contracts, from proposal though close-out; ensuring compliance with best practices in employment law in consultation with MIT HR and legal counsel; serving as human resources liaison; interpreting, implementing, and ensuring compliance with MIT and MGHPCC policies/procedures; managing financial reporting, including tax filings; serving as the primary point-of-contact for outside auditors and MGHPCC’s Audit Committee; working with and managing the efficient exchange of financial information with counterparts at member universities; and other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in a related field; five-plus years' finance and administration experience; fluency with financial management systems; good communication skills; experience with and in-depth understanding of principles/theories of nonprofit business operations; experience managing others or leading projects/programs/functions; and ability to build support through discussion and compromise, drive consensus, and work with a diverse group of constituencies who have wide ranging and sometimes conflicting interests. Experience in academic or nonprofit settings a plus. Job #17111-Q
