, Admissions Office, to manage the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate admissions office including direct responsibility for five associate directors and indirect responsibility for the work of nearly forty personnel and approximately 6,000 alumni/ae volunteers. Will maintain MIT's success in attracting a diverse, talented applicant pool that includes the world's best students in an educational environment centered on science and technology; ensure the admissions process aligns with MIT's principles/values and enrolls a talented and diverse student body; work with the director of financial aid to align and improve both offices while preserving the principle of need-blind admissions; organizing and participating in special recruiting activities for underrepresented groups; preparing and implementing processes for long-range planning; overseeing the move to a new CRM and application processing system; overseeing the physical move of the office; and ensuring the office remains a collaborative, team-based, high-functioning work environment.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: advanced degree in management, education, or related field; at least seven years' academic recruitment and admissions experience; ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively with faculty/staff/students/parents/alumni/school personnel; excellent communication, planning managerial, and supervisory skills; demonstrated success in fostering diversity and a deep understanding of the educational strengths that emerge from a diverse learning environment; experience using and applying complex information technologies; flexibility; ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment within a complex organizational setting.
